Job summary

Ventas, Inc. is seeking a Financial Analyst in Senior Living Capex to support a growing portfolio of 850+ senior housing communities across North America and the UK. You will underwrite capital investments, analyze market data, and prepare materials for executive review.

The role requires a 1+ year post-Undergrad background, strong Excel/PowerPoint, and effective communication. Hybrid work with in-office days and relocation flexibility are offered along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics or similar field.
• 1+ years of post-undergraduate experience.
• Willingness to relocate to Chicago, IL or NY metro area.
• Strong MS Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Experience with Power Query/Power BI; Python a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide analytical support for a portfolio of senior housing assets in North America and the UK.
• Underwrite and prioritize capital investments using property, market, and demographic data.
• Create materials for project approvals by executives.
• Track, forecast, and report project status, cash spend, and variances.
• Collaborate with Ventas internal teams and partners to manage $500M+ in annual capital investments across ~850 communities.
• Occasionally conduct site visits to evaluate potential projects.

Through a combination of financial analysis, strategic planning, and project oversight, the team plays a key role in supporting the continued growth and success of Ventas' senior housing portfolio.About the RoleThe Financial Analyst, Senior Living Capex will have the opportunity to join an S&P 500 company and work on a high-profile and growing portfolio of senior housing assets with a focus on organic capital investments. The Financial Analyst will report to the Director, Senior Living Capex and oversee financial analysis, project underwriting, and portfolio-level tracking and reporting across 850+ senior housing communities in North America and the UK. He/she will be a key contributor to an integral team within Ventas and will have a significant responsibility for, and impact on, the portfolio's financial performance. While we do not require any prior real estate or healthcare experience, we do require candidates who are analytical, detail-oriented, intellectually curious, fast learners and have a desire to be an integral part of a company whose track record speaks for itself. Key responsibilities include:Provide analytical support for a portfolio of senior housing assets located across North America and the UKLeverage property, market, and industry financial and demographic data to underwrite and make recommendations for capital investment feasibility and prioritization on project-by-project basisCreate supporting materials, including the creation of presentations for project approval by company executivesTrack, forecast, and report project status, cash spend by project, variances to project budget, variances to underwriting on financial performance and returns on investmentCollaborate with various Ventas internal teams and operating partners to help effectively manage up to ~$500M+ in annual organic capital investments across ~850+ senior housing communitiesConduct occasional site visits to help evaluate potential projects and review ongoing or completed projectsQualificationsBachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Real Estate, Mathematics or similar field1+ years of post-undergraduate experienceMust be located in the Chicago, IL or New York, NY surrounding area or willing to relocate for the duration of employmentWillingness to adapt and thrive in a blended work environment with 3-days in office, seamlessly transitioning between remote work and in-office operationsStrong proficiency in MS Excel and proficiency in MS PowerPoint requiredExperience using Power Query/Power BI, Python and other business intelligence and/or coding skills would be beneficial, but not requiredWorking knowledge of finance and accounting conceptsStrong written and verbal communication skillsMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without need for employer sponsorship now or in the futureThe estimated base salary range for this position is $75,000 - $100,000 per year. This range reflects a good-faith estimate of the base salary Ventas reasonably expects to pay at the time of posting.
