Job summary

Meritage Homes is seeking a Financial Analyst to support the Dallas–Fort Worth Division with in-depth financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting. The role emphasizes collaboration across departments to drive land acquisition decisions and quarterly/annual planning.

The ideal candidate has a finance or accounting background, 2–3 years of experience, and strong Excel skills for scenario analysis and budgeting. A customer-service mindset and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Has a Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting; CPA or Master’s degree is a plus.
• 2-3 years of finance or accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel and budgeting/forecasting skills.
• Experience with JD Edwards or SAP/Business Objects is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication across organizational levels.

Responsibilities

• Support the DFW team with financial analysis and reporting for division operations and land acquisition.
• Review monthly financial statements, margin proformas, backlog reports, and key indicators.
• Assist in quarterly forecasts and the annual business plan preparation and review.
• Prepare supplementary reports and analyses for management.
• Assist with pricing updates, lot releases, and MLS updates.
• Prepare monthly lot takedown and pro forma reports with variance explanations.
• Coordinate monthly budget meetings with other departments.
• Gather and analyze information for land development financial analyses and buy/build considerations.
• Perform ad hoc analyses as needed.
