What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Organize and maintain property tax documentation, including assessment notices and tax bills
- Collaborate with third-party consultants to monitor property tax assessments and discuss potential appeals
- Track deadlines and ensure timely responses to assessment notices and appeals
- Compile and review financial data required for cost certifications
- Prepare summaries and reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting key financial metrics
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in financial analysis, cost accounting, or a related role
- Familiarity with property tax processes and cost certification requirements, particularly within the affordable housing sector
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software systems
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Experience working with third-party consultants and understanding of property tax appeal processes
- Knowledge of Section 42 of the Internal Revenue Code and LIHTC program requirements
