Job summary

Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP is seeking a Financial Analyst to help analyze practice group and firm performance, develop financial models, and support month-end reporting from our New York office.

You will work with partners and accounting to deliver accurate analyses, improve processes, and automate recurring reports, leveraging Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle, and Smartview as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business-related field required.
• 2–4 years of public or private experience in Accounting or FP&A.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.
• Comfortable handling large data sets.
• Knowledge of Oracle and Smartview a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare management reports related to practice area performance, via Oracle and other financial reporting tools.
• Provide analysis on financial performance, utilization, realization, leverage, profitability, and other KPIs.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to automate and standardize recurring deliverables.
• Collaborate with partners, business development and accounting to support day-to-day deliverables.
• Contribute to ad-hoc projects.

Position Summary

The Financial Analyst will assist in analyzing practice group and firm performance, develop various financial models, and contribute to data validation and month-end reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Typical responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Prepare management reports related to practice area performance, via Oracle and other financial reporting tools.
• Provide analysis on financial performance, utilization, realization, leverage, profitability, and other KPIs.
• Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance financial analysis; and identify opportunities to automate and standardize recurring deliverables.
• Collaborate with partners, business development and accounting to support day-to-day deliverables
• Various ad-hoc projects.

Qualifications/Position Requirements

• Strong organization and communication skills.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and PowerPoint.

Education and/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in business-related field.
• 2-4 years of public or private experience in a similar capacity (Accounting or FP&A)

Compensation

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $80,000 - 90,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. Davis Polk offers a competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package.
