Huntsville Hospital is seeking an experienced accounting/financial analyst to support decision-making processes on campus. The role requires strong Excel and Access skills and at least five years in accounting or financial analysis, preferably in healthcare.

You will develop dashboards, produce ad hoc reports, and provide detailed financial analyses to senior management while ensuring accurate accounting records and effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting or Finance.
• At least five years of accounting or financial analysis experience.
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access.
• Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.

Under the general supervision of the Director of Financial Reporting, performs a variety of decision support services and evaluations of accounting and financial activities and systems of the Medical Centers. • Ability to assist with decision support functions.
• Numerical ability to calculate by formula and prepare statistical data, reports, and analyses as required, including the completion of various monthly, quarterly, and annual surveys.
• Ability to build and maintain various ad hoc reports in accounting system.
• Ability to evaluate business functions and systems to best utilize systems and to extract and analyze critical data.
• Ability to solve business problems and improve processes.
• Ability to prepare custom financial reports and dashboards for senior management.
• Ability to perform general accounting functions to accurately record financial transactions of the Medical Centers.
• Ability to prepare detailed analysis of accounts and processes to ensure the accuracy of all accounting work performed in accordance with policy and procedures.
• Ability to assume responsibility of special projects as assigned.
• Ability to maintain record keeping and filing system in accordance with departmental standards.
• Attend and participate in administrative and other meetings as required.
• Verbal ability to communicate courteously to public in answering telephone, responding appropriately, or directing calls to others as necessary.
• Ability to address complaints regarding the accounting and financial operations of the Medical Centers.
• Ability to work proficiently in Excel, Access, and other data analytical programs.

Qualifications

EDUCATION:

BS Degree in Accounting or Finance.

Experience

At least five years of experience in accounting or financial analysis.

Advanced knowledge of Excel and Access is required. Experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
