Job summary

Penn Medicine is seeking a Financial Analyst II to support 340B compliance and analytics across UPHS ambulatory locations. You’ll partner with pharmacy, finance and compliance teams to analyze data, run variance analyses, and help automate monthly close tasks.

You will identify savings opportunities, prepare journal entries, and contribute to monthly reporting and audits while supporting performance improvement initiatives in a high‑impact academic medical center.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, or related field with 3+ years in healthcare audit.
  • Alternatively, Master’s in MBA/Finance with 2+ years in healthcare audit.

Responsibilities

  • Supports ambulatory pharmacy workflows including data management, opportunity analytics, and performance improvement initiatives
  • Identifies savings opportunities for the health system, and presents findings to UPHS Pharmacy Leadership
  • Provides inventory, controlled substance, WAC analysis and other reporting as needed
  • Prepares timely and accurate monthly journal entries
  • Completes daily, weekly, and monthly 340B audits
  • Shares expertise and provides training, education, and communication to new members of the team
  • Responsible for management and completion of special projects as assigned

This position is a full-time hybrid position working 2 days in the office and 3 days remote.

  • In collaboration with the UPHS Director of Business Operations and UPHS Director of 340B Compliance, the Financial Analyst II supports the audit and compliance functions of the 340B program across UPHS 340B covered entities. Also, this position helps support financial analysis for the Retail/Specialty Pharmacy programs at HUP, PAH, PPMC, LGH, CCH, Doylestown and Princeton Ambulatory Pharmacy locations across UPHS that deliver over $2B in revenue and $575 million contribution margin to Penn Medicine.
  • The Financial Analyst II partners closely with pharmacy, finance, and compliance teams to analyze financial and operational data, identify trends, support process improvements, and ensure accurate and timely reporting. He/she will be responsible for identifying new opportunities for the UPHS Ambulatory Pharmacy program, while ensuring compliance with 340B regulations. In addition, he/she will complete monthly close journal entries, financial reporting, and variance analyses. The Financial Analyst II will take a lead role in working to automate monthly tasks to improve efficiency.

Education or Equivalent Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree Finance, Data Analytics, or Similar Area of Study And 3+ years working in audit and / or a healthcare (Required)
  • OR master's degree Business Administration/Finance or Similar Area of Study And 2+ years working in audit and / or a healthcare (Preferred)
