Job summary

Northrop Grumman in Redondo Beach, CA, is seeking a Financial Analyst at Level 3 or Level 4. The role focuses on program forecasting, cost reporting, and adherence to government cost controls.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of business management, finance, operations or accounting experience or Master’s with 3 years of experience.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, including Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and prepare program financial forecasting and reporting, including the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and Long-Range Strategic Plan (LRSP).
  • Monitor, forecast and manage program financing mechanisms such as Accounts Receivable, Advanced Payments, and Accounts Payable.
  • Support audits, reviews, fact-finding and development of program cost estimates, customer proposals, and negotiations.
  • Perform quarterly Estimates at Complete (EAC), analyze Estimates to Complete (ETC), variances, risk management reserve (MR) and prepare internal and external status reports.
  • Develop funds run out (FRO) analyses to align program funding needs with government funding availability.
  • Collaborate with business, functional, and technical staff to address customer requests and briefs financial forecasts and results to Business Unit and Division leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned

As a Financial Analyst – Level 3 or Level 4 located in Redondo Beach, CA, you’ll be a linchpin in missions of paramount importance, defining the art of the possible from day one. This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.

As a Financial Analyst, you will perform analyses and prepare financial reports to ensure program contracts remain within negotiated and agreed-upon parameters, comply with government cost control requirements, and adhere to applicable accounting guidelines. You will develop and deliver program financial reports for internal and external customers, with a focus on program cost incurrence, material tracking, and labor spending. Our Financial Analyst will proactively identify program cost and schedule risks and support the development and implementation of mitigation actions. This position will support our Proliferated Systems operating unit.

This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.

In this job, you will:

Basic Qualifications for Level 3:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of business management, finance, operations or accounting experience – OR – Master’s degree with 3 years of business management, finance, operations or accounting experience

Basic Qualifications for Level 4:
  • Bachelor’s degree with 8 years of business management, finance, operations or accounting experience – OR – Master’s degree with 6 years of business management, finance, operations or accounting experience

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience briefing complex financial performance, analyses and concepts to executive leadership
  • Experience working with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS)
  • Experience with project management software (COBRA), SAP Management Project Systems Module and IBM Business Analytics (Cognos)
  • Aerospace and Defense industry experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $94,200.00 - $141,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $117,500.00 - $176,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
