Job summary

Ascensus is seeking a Finance Analyst to prepare monthly financial analysis and support budgeting and profitability studies. You will help compile the annual budget and provide variance insights across business segments, while maintaining data confidentiality and quality.

The role requires a bachelor’s in accounting or finance with 1+ year of experience; CPA or master's preferred. Proficiency in Excel/PowerPoint and the ability to work independently or in teams in a fast-paced environment are

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance required; Masters and/or CPA preferred.
• 1+ years of accounting/finance work experience.
• Strong PC skills in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Access.
• Cognos TM1 reporting experience a plus.
• Ability to balance multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly financial analysis and recurring reporting.
• Research and document expense variances for monthly reporting.
• Assist in calculations and review of the Annual Operating Budget.
• Prepare board package reports for the annual Operating Budget.
• Model and analyze profitability and forecasts for departments.
• Support other finance projects as assigned.

Section 1: Position Summary

This position will be responsible for the preparation of financial analysis. The individual will prepare recurring monthly reporting and support various finance projects and analyses. The projects include, but are not limited to, compilation and reporting of the annual budget and profitability studies for various business segments.

Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for protecting, securing, and proper handling of all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

• Research and document expense variances for monthly reporting.
• Assist in calculations and expense review for the Annual Operating Budget.
• Assist in preparation of board package reports for the annual Operating Budget
• Assist with business profitability studies.
• Perform financial modeling and analysis as required.
• Prepare full year forecast of expense for various departments.
• Assist with other tasks and projects as assigned
