USC Marshall School of Business, Office of Finance and Administration, seeks a Financial Analyst II to support the finance team with complex reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliations to inform senior leadership decisions.

**Financial Analyst II****USC Marshall School of Business** **Office of Finance and Administration**The University of Southern California (USC), founded in 1880, is located in the heart of downtown L.A. and is the largest private employer in the City of Los Angeles. As an employee of USC, you will be a part of a world-class research university and a member of the \"Trojan Family,\" which is comprised of the faculty, students and staff that make the university what it is.Reporting to the Assistant Dean and Director, Finance for the Marshall School of Business, the Financial Analyst II will support the finance team. The position performs complex financial reporting, analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and reconciliation to support organizational planning and senior leadership decision-making. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting with and maintaining P&L statements, budgets and projections (multi-year, annual, and quarterly), and tuition models; performing tuition reconciliations/adjustments in USC’s Student Information System; overseeing program profit shares and student program fees.The position produces recurring and ad hoc financial reports, provides financial analysis and reporting support to senior leadership, and collaborates with the SBO on leadership presentations and strategic planning initiatives.**Responsibilities and Duties:*** Support the build and ongoing refinement of the P&L across business verticals, working cross-functionally* Assist with day-to-day tuition management ensuring department and financial system alignment* Partner with school business leaders in the development of multi-year, annual, and quarterly budgets and projections.* Support the building of tuition unit and revenue projections. Perform tuition reconciliation by program and term.* Monitor the financial health of overall school as well as individual departments and programs. Identify problems or trends and evaluate for solutions.* Maintain and monitor student program fees* Analyze compensation trends to evaluate for payroll accounting adjustments* Perform reconciliations on gifts and endowments to ensure accuracy of pledge agreements for projections* Create financial reports for internal, external, and ad hoc purposes* Collaborate with assistant dean and director, finance regarding creation of senior leadership presentations**Required Qualifications:*** Knowledge of financial planning and analysis principles, including budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, and variance analysis* Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fundamental accounting principles, including accrual accounting, reconciliations, revenue recognition, and financial close processes* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and demonstrated ability to work with large datasets and multiple financial information systems* Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and financial integrity.* Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organizational skills* Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial audiences* Positive, team-first oriented mindset with high social awareness**Preferred Qualifications:*** Knowledge of higher education financial operations, including tuition revenue, enrollment, financial aid, scholarships/discounting, grants, and academic program economics.* Experience with developing and maintaining financial models to forecast tuition revenue, enrollment, financial aid, operating expenses, and other key financial drivers* Directly related experience in a university environment with knowledge of university systems and procedures.* Familiarity with Workday Finance ERP system**Anticipated Hiring Range:**The salary range for this position is **$94,229.27 - $105,198.36 - $117,904.** When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.**Required Documents and Additional Information*** Resume and cover letter required (may be uploaded as one file).
