Job summary

Trustmark Corporation is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis Analyst to conduct in-depth forecasting, budgeting, data analysis, and KPI development. The role may be filled at Level I or II, with additional responsibilities tied to the level.

You will build financial models, prepare monthly reviews with actionable commentary, and automate reporting using Excel, Power BI, OBIEE, or similar tools. The role requires strong communication and the ability to manage multiple projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field of study; Level II may require 2+ years FP&A or corporate finance experience.
  • 1+ years FP&A experience or recent graduate for Development Associate path.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills for management interactions.
  • Ability to analyze data, budget, and translate into actional financial activities.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data and make recommendations.
  • Experience with Microsoft applications (Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, Word, VBA) and other reporting tools.

Responsibilities

Job description

Position is responsible for conducting in-depth financial analysis including forecasting, budgeting, data analysis, and metric development.

This position may be filled as a Level I or II. Additional responsibilities and qualifications apply.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and manage financial models to support forecasting, budgeting, report creation to support long-term planning
  • Prepare monthly business review materials with actionable commentary
  • Automate and improve financial processes and reporting using tools such as Excel, Power BI, OBIE, or financial planning software
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), develop dashboards, and deliver performance analyses that influence decisions within the organization
  • Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned

Level II Additional Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and forecast key performance indicators (KPIs), develop dashboards, and deliver performance analyses that influence decisions within the organization
  • Develop new and existing materials for senior management presentations, discussions, and reviews
  • Active role in the development of the annual budget and multi-year strategy plans
  • Associates are expected to perform all additional duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field of study
  • 1+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) or a corporate finance role -OR- Recent college graduate and selected for the Trustmark Development Associate position.
  • Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present findings in understandable terms for appropriate management interactions
  • Demonstrate strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data, budget, and translate into actional financial activities
  • Demonstrate strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendations
  • Prior experience with Microsoft applications, primarily Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, Word, VBA and other database analysis and reporting tools
  • Strong Ability to interact with professionalism and demonstrate confidence in presentations
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and exercise appropriate organization and time management skills
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders
  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration preferred
  • Knowledge of OBIEE, Power BI, Cognos, or other business intelligence dashboard tools preferred
Level II Additional Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting or related field of study
  • 2+ years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) or corporate finance role
  • Prior experience with building complex financial models
  • Strong financial acumen with the ability to analyze financial data, budget, and translate into actional financial activities
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make recommendationsStrong experience with Microsoft applications, primarily Excel, Teams, PowerPoint, Outlook, Access, SharePoint, Word, VBA and other database analysis and reporting tools
  • Demonstrated strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate and present findings in understandable terms for appropriate management interactions

  • 2+ years working in the financial department at a financial institution preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OBIEE, Power BI, Cognos, or other business intelligence dashboard tools preferred

Physical Requirements/Working Conditions: Must be able to sit for long periods of time and use computer keyboard and/or mouse, while viewing computer screens.
