Job summary

Essent Group Ltd. is seeking a Financial Analyst I to support financial planning, analysis, and reporting within our mortgage insurance and financial services division.

You will analyze performance, forecast results, and provide insights to guide strategic decisions, while ensuring GAAP compliance and SEC reporting alignment. The role requires a Bachelor's in Finance/Accounting/Economics and 2–5+ years in financial analysis, preferably in mortgage or insurance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field.
• 2–5+ years of financial analysis or financial services experience, preferably mortgage/insurance.
• Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices.
• Familiarity with SEC reporting and mortgage-related compliance standards.
• Ability to interpret financial data and provide actionable business insights.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis, including variance analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for management review.
• Analyze revenue, expenses, and profitability trends to support business decisions.
• Support financial planning and forecasting processes, including scenario modeling.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and internal financial policies.
• Assist in developing financial models to evaluate business initiatives and investment opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data and provide financial insights.
• Monitor KPIs and support performance management reporting.
• Assist with audit processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
