Working independently, the Financial Analyst I, Deduction & Return Management, will manage the research, processing, and communication of debits and deduction reconciliations for USHP. This role is responsible for the accurate pricing and processing of all warehouse and outdated returns, resolving any invalid data transmitted. The incumbent will communicate regularly with return vendors to ensure the accuracy and timeliness of return EDI data, as well as analyze customer deduction behaviors and outdated returns data. This role works closely with the GBSC, Live Site Team, IT, Contracts, and DMT on all outdated return functionality and data issues.

This position is responsible for updating all data tables within the ERP system to ensure accuracy of return processing, escalating issues as needed to ensure timely resolution of deduction and return items for AR. You will oversee all credit processing and short pay forms, manage the AR portfolio of accounts, build and maintain strong relationships with key trading partners, and provide monthly and weekly financial reports to customers. Additionally, you will manage orders, inquiries, and deductions for a high-profile AR portfolio for the US business unit.

You will also assist other internal departments in identifying, diagnosing, and troubleshooting Order to Cash-related issues, protect the company's financial assets by ensuring compliance with policies and regulations, and provide best-in-class technology, reporting, service, and quality to uphold our standards and reputation. Compliance with all audit and IT requirements is essential.

This position offers a base salary typically between $45,000 and $65,000. It may be eligible for role-specific variable or performance-based bonuses and other compensation elements. For an overview of our benefits, please click here.

Duties & Responsibilities
  • Drive research and reconciliation of debit memos and deductions on payments for US HP, adjudicating claims by issuing credits, offsetting deductions, or billing for invalid deductions.
  • Ensure all documentation is attached for collection efforts and audits.
  • Work with Trade and warehouse teams to escalate and resolve damage or shortage claims disputed by wholesalers.
  • Perform reporting and detailed analysis for customers and internal stakeholders.
  • Manage the returns EDI process for USHP.
  • Research and resolve invalid return data in collaboration with GBSC, Live Site, IT, Contracts, and Data Management.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data, including DEA and pricing information.
  • Complete daily pricing audits.
  • Manage retransmission of EDI data when corrections are needed.
  • Handle return blocks, tables, or exceptions within GBS according to policies.
  • Coordinate with internal teams on customer return issues or disputes.
  • Analyze return data trends on vendor portals.
  • Communicate regularly with return vendors, providing monthly or requested reports and analysis.
  • Adhere to all outdated return policies and procedures.
  • Lead internal communication on return processing issues.
  • Analyze deduction and debit memo data to identify trends indicating internal problems.
  • Collaborate with internal customers and sales/trade departments for escalation and resolution.
  • Meet service level agreement metrics for all DSA agreements, responding to inquiries within set timeframes.
  • Reconcile outstanding deductions for quarterly DSA payouts.
  • Manage DSA specialty credits using the mass billing tool.
  • Prioritize workload, participate in inter-team projects, and implement process improvements.
  • Support AR in timely documentation collection for deductions.
  • Provide expertise within Order to Cash and USHP streams.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external relationships.
  • Manage a portfolio of accounts independently.
  • Collect open invoices, invalid deductions, and balances with priority based on currency and age.
  • Address discrepancies, credits, and other account issues through effective communication.
  • Follow DSA agreements and SLA commitments.
  • Perform analysis to protect AR assets and promote continuous process improvements.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance preferred, with two years of experience, or a High School Diploma with six years of relevant experience in credit risk and receivables management.
  • Experience in high-volume return management is preferred.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, strategic understanding, result orientation, and process design skills required.
  • Excellent communication skills with customers and business partners at all levels.
