Job summary

Michigan State University’s Institute for Cyber Enabled Research (ICER) is seeking a Financial Operations Specialist to oversee billing, purchasing, and accounting for ICER and related units. The role includes fee-for-service billing, renewals, expense reconciliation, and maintaining EBS/KFS records, plus generating reports and supporting pricing assessments.

The position is hybrid with weekly meetings at the East Lansing campus.

Qualifications

• Four-year degree in accounting or finance or related field.
• Six months to one year of related and progressively responsible experience in accounting, auditing or financial analysis.
• Experience with financial systems and reporting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Billing: manage fee-for-service billing, storage usage, renewals, adjustments, and pricing updates.
• Purchasing: oversee renewals and procurement of software, hardware, and storage space, with tracking.
• Account ledgers: locate and document expenditures in EBS; reconcile expenses and maintain records in KFS.
• General office duties: prepare ad hoc financial reports; order supplies; assist with administrative tasks.
