Job summary

Cincinnati Children’s is seeking a Grants & Financial Administration professional to join the Radiology Research division. You will drive pre-award budgeting, monitor grant expenses, and ensure NIH compliance while delivering accurate financial reporting and metrics.

Collaborating with principal investigators and department leadership, you will monitor cost-share, track effort, and help manage risk through data-driven insights, with on-site engagement preferred for those living within 50 miles

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

• External Funding- support for grant budgets and expense tracking; interact with PI's and funding agencies to maximize reimbursements and satisfy reporting.
• Procurement and Operations- coordinate purchasing, space planning, and improve business processes; initiate transactions with oversight.
• Systems and Technology- ensure data accuracy in clinical, HR, financial and supply chain systems; support division decisions.
• Project Support- assist in projects and business plans; collect data and summarize recommendations.
• Academic/Faculty- assist with management of academic/faculty matters and compliance requirements.

Primary Location Kasota - 3244 Burnet Department Radiology Research Shift Day (United States of America) Schedule Full time Weekly Hours 40 FTE 1 Employee Status Regular *Expected Starting Pay Range $56,846.40 - $72,488.00 *Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

About this position

The position is part of the Research Division of Radiology and is a highly collaborative role supporting the full lifecycle of research grant administration and financial management. This position partners closely with principal investigators and departmental leadership to coordinate pre-award activities, develop and monitor grant budgets, ensure compliance with NIH requirements, and provide guidance on research administration processes. The role also oversees financial reporting, effort tracking, cost-share monitoring, and grant performance metrics while identifying trends and potential risks to support sound fiscal stewardship. Success in this position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build effective relationships with faculty, researchers, and administrative stakeholders. To support collaboration and on-site engagement, preference will be given to candidates who live within 50 miles of Cincinnati.

Job Responsibilities

• External Funding- Provide support for activities associated with external funded projects, including development and maintenance of grant budgets and expense tracking. Interact with various program managers and principal investigators, as well as outside funding agencies, to achieve maximum reimbursement of program costs, and successfully satisfy reporting requirements of outside funding agencies.
• Procurement and Operations- Coordinate purchasing activities, supporting acquisition and allocation of resources. Participate in space planning. Provide support for business processes to ensure effective and efficient operations. Identify opportunities for improving processes. Resolve issues directly or in consultation with Director. Initiate departmental financial transactions with approval.
• Systems and Technology- Ensure accuracy of data recording and tracking in applicable clinical, human resource, financial and supply chain systems as delegated. Ensure reporting meets division/department decision making needs.
• Project Support - Provide support for completion of projects and business plans, including research, data collection and analysis. Summarize recommendations and conclusions.
• Academic/Faculty - Provide support for the management of academic/faculty affairs and the meeting of compliance requirements.
