• External Funding: Supports grant budgets and expense tracking, compliance with NIH guidelines, and reporting requirements of funding agencies.
• Leadership: May provide day-to-day functional leadership, training, mentoring, and staffing discussions.

Expected Starting Pay Range: $67,537.60 - $86,112.00
Starting pay is based on experience, skills, and equity; exceptions may apply for highly qualified candidates. Additional pay (e.g., shift, on‑call, or weekend differentials) and benefits may apply. Annual pay may vary based on FTE status.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Financial Analysis
  Prepares financial models/analyses to support current and proposed business transactions, service offerings, performance improvement initiatives, etc. Prepares utilization analysis and trending. Identifies issues that require additional analysis and develop reporting to support the analysis. Assists in the development and implementation of the division's annual and capital budget. Develops and maintains reporting to provide monthly analysis of variances and to make recommendations. Analyzes and monitors financial performance and assists in the reporting of financial results. Monitors and reports productivity metrics. Provides support for revenue cycle management including billing, coding, charge capture and reporting. Researches and resolves payer issues. Participates in projects/initiatives to reduce costs and meet revenue goals.
• Procurement and Operations
  Responsible for purchasing activities, acquisition and allocation of resources. Participates in space planning. Monitors business processes to ensure effective and efficient operations; monitors efficient patient flow patterns to maximize clinical and staff efficiency; supports the review of policies and procedures for improved utilization and operations; identifies opportunities for improving cost and quality of care and develops and provides recommendations for improvement. Initiates departmental financial transactions with approval.
• Systems and Technology
  Ensures accuracy of data recording and tracking in applicable clinical, human resource, financial and supply chain systems. Advances the use of technology for decision making processes.
• External Funding
  Provides support for activities associated with external funded projects, including development and maintenance of grant budgets and expense tracking. Works with Sponsored Programs and other institutional regulatory offices to support compliance with NIH and other external sponsor guidelines for the application and management of awards. Interacts with various program managers and principal investigators, as well as outside funding agencies, to achieve maximum reimbursement of program costs, and successfully satisfies reporting requirements of outside funding agencies.
• Leadership
  May provide day-to-day functional leadership for a team or directly manage a minimal number of support staff. Establishes team goals. Gives input into, and performs employee performance reviews. Oversees and guides work assignments. Serves as the functional expert and provides guidance to the team. Assists in the training of new employees. Serves as a resource and/or mentor to coworkers. Assists in the development and presentation of department training. Identifies training needs and provides necessary coaching. May participate in the development and monitoring of an effective staffing and retention strategy, including hiring and terminating employees. May collaborate with human resources business partners to meet talent management goals; supports organizational programs/plans and ensures communication, and adherence to Human Resources policies and related legal and/or compliance requirements.
