Job summary

The University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) invites qualified candidates to apply for our Financial Analyst (P2) position. The successful candidate will apply growing financial management expertise to support government- and industry-sponsored research programs.

This role performs a broad range of project control responsibilities with increasing independence, contributes to financial decision making, and ensures adherence to federal and contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in budget analysis, financial management, or program control within a government contracting environment.
• Working knowledge of cost reimbursable, fixed price, Time & Materials, and Blanket PO contract structures
• Analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• U.S. citizenship is required due to government contracts.

Responsibilities

• Develop, manage, and monitor multi-year budgets across funded programs.
• Prepare financial reports including Funds Status Reports and burn rate tracking.
• Track obligations, expenditures, and funding across categories and contracts.
• Identify financial trends, risks, and opportunities; present data-driven recommendations.
• Review BPOs, IDIQs, task orders, and contract modifications; communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Collaborate with program managers, contract administrators, and finance staff for compliance.
• Support monthly, quarterly, and closeout financial processes; lead portions as needed.
• Use Costpoint to run reports, validate data, and perform reconciliations.
• Maintain audit-ready documentation per government standards.
• Provide training or guidance to junior analysts on assigned projects.
