Job summary

Dynamo Software, a leading FinTech SaaS provider, seeks a Financial Analyst to support FP&A by delivering accurate reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and actionable analysis for performance insights.

The hybrid role is based in Watertown, MA with on-site work required 3 days per week. Relocation is not offered. 60k–95k base salary with bonus eligibility, benefits, and 401k matching.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics required.
  • 1–3 years of FP&A experience preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills with pivot tables, lookups, and structured modeling.
  • Experience preparing variance analyses and communicating insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and attention to detail.
  • Nice to have exposure to FP&A tools (Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan).
  • SaaS or subscription model experience (ARR, churn) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and analyze monthly non‑revenue reporting packages (budget vs actuals) with variance explanations and business insights.
  • Support recurring forecasting processes including department expense forecasts and revenue drivers.
  • Assist with the annual operating plan (AOP) and long-range planning cycles by collecting inputs, validating assumptions, and maintaining templates/models.
  • Analyze revenue performance and drivers (ARR trends, churn/retention, bookings, billings) and communicate implications to finance and business partners.
  • Partner with budget owners to understand spend drivers, improve forecast accuracy, and identify cost optimization opportunities.
  • Support system implementation, automation initiatives and AI to improve data quality, speed, and self-service reporting.
  • Ensure data integrity by reconciling reporting outputs to source systems and collaborating with others in finance on close-related questions.

Role Overview: The Financial Analyst will support the FP&A team by delivering accurate reporting, budgeting/forecasting support, and actionable analysis to help leaders understand performance drivers and make informed decisions. Work authorization in the U.S. is required. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Hybrid schedule: This is a hybrid role based in Watertown, MA. Candidates must be located within a commutable distance and able to work onsite 3 days per week. Relocation assistance is not available for this role.

What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day):

  • Monthly reporting is accurate, timely, and highlights the “why” behind variances- not just the “what.”
  • Forecasts are well-supported, clearly documented, and improve in accuracy over time.
  • Business partners view FP&A as a trusted, easy-to-work-with resource for decision support.
  • Models are maintained with strong version control, transparency, and reproducibility.
What you bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Economics.
  • 1–3 years of experience in FP&A.
  • Strong Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, lookups, structured modeling); ability to build and work with large datasets and build repeatable analysis.
  • Experience preparing variance analysis and communicating insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong attention to detail, sound judgment, and ability to balance multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to translate data into clear, decision-useful narratives.
  • Nice to have - exposure to FP&A tools (e.g., Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan).
  • Nice to have - experience in a SaaS or subscription business model (e.g., ARR, churn, retention analysis).

At Dynamo Software, we’re committed to fair and competitive pay practices. The listed range represents the base salary for this role, with final pay determined by experience and qualifications. In addition, employees are eligible for our performance-based bonus program. Base Salary Range: $60,000-$95,000.
