Job summary

SolomonEdwards is seeking a Staff Accountant – Financial Planning & Reporting to join the finance team in a hybrid capacity. The role combines accounting, financial reporting, financial modeling, budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A in one position.

This opportunity is ideal for a public accounting auditor or CPA looking to transition into corporate finance, gaining exposure to multi-entity financial analysis and business planning.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of public accounting experience required.
• Audit experience strongly preferred.
• CPA preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and federal income tax.
• Financial statement preparation and financial analysis experience.
• Exposure to budgeting, forecasting, or financial modeling.
• Advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Build financial models to evaluate revenue, profitability, and new business opportunities.
• Support budgets, forecasts, and annual operating plans.
• Analyze actual results versus budget and historical performance.
• Prepare financial reports and management analysis.
• Perform monthly close activities and prepare financial statements.
• Handle general ledger activities, journal entries, and cash accounting.
• Assist external CPA firms with audits and tax returns.
• Identify opportunities to improve accounting and reporting processes.
• Participate in financial and technology-related projects.
