Now Hiring: Financial Analyst – ERP Program Budget & Value Management

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is undertaking a multi-year ERP modernization effort, transitioning from legacy Oracle E-Business Suite, PeopleSoft HCM, and Kronos WFM to the Oracle Cloud Fusion ERP platform. We are seeking a Financial Analyst to oversee budget preparation, financial tracking, and value management for the Program BRIDGE Office.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead development and oversight of CapEx and OpEx budgets, ensuring alignment with strategic and operational goals.
  • Monitor program spending and provide monthly budget vs. actual variance reports.
  • Track ERP program benefits and key performance indicators; develop cost estimates, business cases, and value engineering frameworks.
  • Ensure all financial activities comply with CPS policies, fiscal regulations, and audit standards.
  • Process vendor payments based on milestone completion and contractual obligations.
  • Assist senior leadership in establishing annual budgets and presenting them for Board approval.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses to assess value realization across the program lifecycle.
  • Support internal teams in budget reporting, tracking, and financial procedures.
  • Evaluate change requests for financial impact and contribute to revised budget proposals.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure financial transparency and program delivery success.
  • Prepare for and support annual audit processes in coordination with the Finance team.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of financial management experience, ideally within a public sector or nonprofit environment.
  • Background in budgeting, financial reporting, and value management for complex, long-term ERP or technology programs.
  • Proficiency with GAAP accounting, financial forecasting, and cost tracking.
  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with Oracle Cloud ERP or other financial systems.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
  • Experience in K-12 or education-related finance is highly desirable.
Education and Certification Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CPA preferred).
  • Relevant experience in grant reporting and public-sector financial compliance is preferred.
