Job summary

Oxy, headquartered in Houston, seeks a Financial Analyst to join the Accounting Department in Houston, TX. You will handle monthly accruals, journal entries, and close processes while supporting budgeting and outlook activities.

You will maintain financial models, review statements, and perform reconciliations, collaborating across functions to ensure policy compliance. Some overtime for monthly closings is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or a related field.

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly accruals and journal entries.
• Preparing monthly close schedules and variance reports.
• Ensuring monthly close deadlines and responsibilities are met.
• Supporting the monthly outlook and annual budget process.
• Maintaining and updating financial models to reflect current business conditions.
• Reviewing financial statements and performing account reconciliations.
• Analzying financial statement activity and summarizing for business unit and accounting management.
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial information and policy compliance.
• Assisting with internal and external audit requests and other special projects.
• Coordinating other duties as required.
