Job summary

Karman Space & Defense, based in Mukilteo, WA, is seeking a Full Time Professional to support financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities that help leadership and program managers make informed decisions.

You will help build program budgets and schedules, manage work plans, and provide regular financial status updates to the Controller. Ideal candidates have a business degree and strong Excel skills, with finance or accounting experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business (finance, accounting, or operations management).
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal managers and external customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Designs, implements, and maintains project-based financial measurement processes.
• Provides financial guidance to management and program managers.
• Works with managers to create program budgets and schedules.
• Performs and assists in work plan reconciliation and reporting.
• Provides weekly and monthly financial status updates to the Controller.
• Reviews financial metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
• Researches and implements cost-saving strategies.
• Supports the Controller and Contracts Manager in creating proposals, purchase orders, and requests for quotation (RFQs).
• Executes ad hoc financial tasks such as revenue projections, market research, and budgeting.

Salary Range: $85,000.00 To $115,000.00 Annually

In this role, you will support financial planning, analysis, and reporting activities that help leadership and program managers make informed decisions. You will contribute to accurate program budgeting, optimized financial metrics, and effective financial tracking processes that strengthen overall financial performance and program execution.

Preferred Qualifications

• Finance or accounting experience.
• Experience working with engineering firms.
• Experience with QuickBooks or other accounting software.
