Job summary

Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Financial Analyst to support contract finance for a broad range of managed care contracts. The role reports to the Executive Director, Contract Finance and collaborates with Contracting and Revenue Finance teams.

Key tasks include analyzing contract financial terms, maintaining fee schedules, and developing contract profiles. A bachelor’s degree and 1–3 years in health plan or provider contracting are preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in health care management, business administration, finance, or equivalent.
  • One to three years experience in health plan/provider contracting.
  • Experience with managed care reimbursement methods and large claims databases (EPIC exposure preferred).
  • Strong analytical, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient with MS Office, especially Excel and Access.

Responsibilities

  • Perform analyses and reporting to support managed care contract terms.
  • Maintain fee schedules for professional and outpatient technical services.
  • Develop and maintain contract profiles with financial terms and key provisions.

Job description

The Financial Analyst reports directly to the Executive Director, Contract Finance. This position provides key support and analyses related to financial aspects of BILH & BILHPN Managed Care Contracts and relationships. This includes Hospitals, Physicians, Behavioral Health, Home Care/Hospice and other provider types as well as Value Based Contract terms. It requires business knowledge with specialized technical and analytical skills. The analyst works closely with Contracting and Revenue Finance internally, as well as externally with the Contracting & Provider Relations staff of the Managed Care Plans.

Job Description:

Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:

  1. Performs analyses and reporting in support of managed care contract financial terms

  2. Maintains fee schedule database, both Professional and Outpatient Technical

  3. Develops and maintains contract profiles containing comparative information on each contract’s financial terms and key

provisions

  1. Performs ad hoc financial analyses of managed care contracts and rate structures

Organizational Requirements:

Maintain strict adherence to all BILH and BILHPN Policies. Maintain courteous and effective interactions with colleagues and providers and stake holders.

Demonstrate an understanding of the job description, performance expectations, and competency assessment. Participate in departmental and/or interdepartmental quality improvement activities. Participate in and successfully completes Mandatory Education. Perform all other duties as needed or directed to meet the needs of the department.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s degree preferably in Health Care Management, Business Administration, Finance or equivalent education or experience.

Licensure, Certification & Registration: na

Experience: One to three years working for health plan and/or provider. Working knowledge of financial terms of managed care contracts Working knowledge of managed care reimbursement methodologies Worked with large medical claims databases (both professional and technical) Experience with integrated billing systems (EPIC) or other.

Skills, Knowledge & Abilities: Excellent analytic, verbal and written communication skills Self-motivated and dynamic individual with the ability to think creatively and work independently Ability to manage multiple priorities Familiarity with Hospital and Professional provider payment methodologies Ability to summarize and present results of analyses clearly and concisely to management Proficient with MS Office applications, particularly Excel and Access

Key Relationships:

1 Executive Director, Contract Finance Priority and goal setting. Mentor & Train. Management of work process and product. Requests and reviews analyses.

2 Contract Manager, Contracting Input in setting priorities. Requests analyses.

3 Vice President, Payor Strategy Input in setting priorities. Requests and reviews analyses.

4 Director, Contract Payment Systems Contract, rate and/or fee schedule information

Pay Range:

$60,320.00 USD - $81,432.00 USD

The pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geographyof work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
