This is an exceptional opportunity for an early-career financial professional who wants significantly more exposure, responsibility and growth than a traditional Financial Analyst position. Candidates need only two years of relevant experience, but will have the opportunity to work directly with the Controller, executive leadership, project managers and operational leaders.
The Financial Analyst will help transform financial and operational data into meaningful business insights. Rather than simply producing reports, this person will investigate trends, analyze project performance, build management tools and help leadership understand what the numbers mean for the business.
The position offers exposure to FP&A, construction finance, project analytics, executive reporting, tax compliance, systems improvement and emerging AI and automation tools. Support the annual budgeting and ongoing forecasting processes
Develop financial models, cash-flow projections and scenario analyses
Prepare financial analysis and reporting for executive leadership
Analyze financial results and identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities
Translate financial information into clear, actionable business recommendations
Assist department and operational leaders with financial planning and decision-making
Analyze the financial performance of active construction projects
Evaluate revenue, costs, margins, profitability, backlog and forecast information
Support project managers in understanding project forecasts and financial results
Develop tools that provide project teams with better visibility into performance
Investigate budget variances, cost trends and discrepancies
Combine financial and operational data from multiple systems and spreadsheets
Help leadership identify opportunities to improve project performance and profitability
Develop and maintain executive dashboards, operational KPIs and management reports
Create clear and useful reporting for Finance, Operations and executive leadership
Work with large financial and operational data sets
Extract and analyze information from ERP and accounting systems

Support the future development of a centralized financial-data repository

Support sales and use tax, gross-receipts tax and other applicable filings
Research tax requirements associated with new project locations
Assist with registrations, filing requirements and ongoing compliance obligations
Help respond to tax notices and support audits
Coordinate with internal accounting personnel, external tax advisors and taxing authorities
Serve as a Finance and Accounting contact for payroll-tax administration
Monitor and reconcile federal, state and local payroll-tax filings and payments
Support the annual W-2 reconciliation and correction process
Research payroll requirements when employees begin working in new jurisdictions
Deep tax expertise is not required. The company understands that this is an unusual component of a Financial Analyst position and will provide training and knowledge transfer. The successful candidate must be comfortable researching unfamiliar requirements, asking questions and learning new areas.
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, business administration or a related field
At least two years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, accounting, project controls, tax or a related discipline
Strong understanding of financial statements and fundamental accounting principles
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Ability to organize and analyze large, complex data sets
Strong analytical, research and problem-solving abilities
Intellectual curiosity and a desire to understand the story behind the numbers
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities
