Job summary

Honda South Carolina Manufacturing in Marysville, OH is seeking an entry level accountant to support month end closes, budgets, and variance analysis under supervision.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month end close activities including analysis of financial information and create journal entries with supervision.
• Prepare budget vs actual comparisons for responsible departments and advise on future activity.
• Collaborate with department managers and investment project leaders in creating 6 budget events per year.
• Create presentations from financial data to advise department leaders on budget to actual conditions and recommendations.

Job description

Uses analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to work with department managers and investment project leaders in the creation of 6 budget events per year. Use professional accounting standards to ensure appropriate reporting of actual financial data and use analytical skills to provide detailed budget to actual analysis.

This is an entry level role that is supervised and does not have significant discretion in autonomous decision making.

Key Accountabilities

• Prepare month end close activities including analysis of financial information in order to create journal entries which impact the financial condition of AHM / HDMA with some supervision.
• Prepare budget vs actual comparisons for responsible departments which are analysed based on professional accounting standards to ensure accurate financial information and to advise management on future activity.
• Use analytical skills and professional accounting knowledge to work with the department managers and investment project leaders in the creation of 6 budget events per year.
• Use financial information to create presentations to advise department leaders of budget to actual condition and make recommendations for areas of improvement.

Qualifications, Experience, And Skills

Minimum Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with major in accounting or finance, OR associates degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in an accounting related job.

• Basic Accounting principles- Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)/International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Cost accounting background.

Working Conditions

• Generally first shift production hours, occasional split/second shift support required. 0-5 hours OT weekly.
• 50% Fast-paced high-energy manufacturing environment, 50% office environment.
