Job summary

San Manuel Casinos in California is seeking a Financial Analyst reporting to the Sr Manager, Finance, to perform financial and operational analysis for Tribal operations, build valuation models, and support KPI reporting across departments.

You will conduct market research, support budgeting, develop dashboards, ensure accurate financial statements, and collaborate with stakeholders to drive informed decision making.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in financial planning, accounting, or similar role required.
• Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

• Reviews contractual obligations to ensure accuracy and alignment with budgets.
• Assist with other duties to support department operations.

Job description

Reporting to the Sr Manager, Finance, the Financial Analyst will be responsible for financial analysis related to Tribal operations. Assisting with the compilation of financial valuations for potential economic opportunities. Additionally, they will be responsible for periodically updating of reports, dashboard, and key performance indicators (KPI) for various other departments. Perform market research and competitive intelligence regarding Tribal enterprises will also be required from this role.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• 1. Performs financial and operational analysis to support leadership decision making aligned with short term and long-range strategic plans and operating budgets.
• 2. Performs financial modeling and business valuation (IRR, ROI, NPV, payback period, etc.).
• 3. Works with finance and business users to determine the metrics, reports, and analyses needed to manage and act on the business.
• 4. Conducts and coordinates financial, market, operational, and related research to support strategic and business planning within the department as directed by Tribal Finance management.
• 5. Works as a liaison with other departments to review and analyze financial impacts, prepare project implementation justifications, help prepare documentation for the financial approval process, and support the annual budgeting process.
• 6. Assists with the interpretation, evaluation, and interrelationship of research data, and generate integrated business analysis and projections for incorporation into decision-making.
• 7. Creates ad-hoc reports to help improve financial data analysis and reporting; month-end, quarterly and year to date.
• 8. Reviews contractual financial obligations and ensures accuracy and meets organizational objectives and budgets.
• 9. Performs other duties as assigned to support the efficient operation of the department.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or related field required from an accredited university required.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in a financial planning, accounting, or similar role required.
• Related, relevant, and/or direct experience may be considered in lieu of minimum educational requirements indicated above.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSA)

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required.
• Demonstrated experience working with relational databases and enterprise reporting tools required.
• Familiarity with statistical and/or visualization tools (Tableau, Spotfire, SAS, R, Python, SPSS, etc.).
• Employee must have experience demonstrating theutmost discretion and confidentialityas they will have access to confidential information.
• Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and accurately interpret financial statements, and identify and track specific KPIs.
• Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations, including the development of financial statistical models and forecasts.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to execute on projects with autonomy and close attention to detail.
• Experience with financial analysis, auditing and reporting.
• Strong technical verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to create a positive and professional business relationship with internal and external clients.

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS AND REGISTRATIONS

• At the discretion of the San Manuel Tribal Gaming Commission, you may be required to obtain and maintain a gaming license.
• No Driving Responsibilities: Role does not require a driver’s license or insurance.
