Job summary

Evlo AI is seeking a Financial Analyst to support corporate finance, forecasting, and US GAAP reporting. You will prepare monthly and quarterly analyses, maintain schedules, and assist with SEC filings and SOX controls.

The role requires 1–3 years of experience, a bachelor’s degree, and strong Excel/Sheets skills, plus familiarity with NetSuite, Looker, Tableau, and related ERP/BI tools. This is an on-site position in Chicago, IL with close collaboration across finance teams.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in financial analysis or related fields.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or equivalent.
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, month-end close and variance analysis.
• Advanced Excel/Sheets including pivot tables and XLOOKUP; strong modeling skills.
• Experience with ERP/FP&A/BI tools such as NetSuite, Workday, Anaplan, Looker or Tableau.
• Strong attention to detail, documenting assumptions and meeting deadlines.
• Bonus: SOX/SEC filings, SQL, CPA coursework, or tech company experience.

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analysis including budget-to-actual and variance reports.
• Build and maintain financial models, reporting packages, and schedules in Excel/Sheets.
• Reconcile data across GL, subledgers, warehouses, and BI dashboards; resolve variances.
• Support SEC reporting by gathering data and maintaining audit-ready workpapers.
• Assist with SOX control activities including evidence collection and testing.
• Collaborate with accounting managers and stakeholders to improve close workflows.
• Develop dashboards and ad hoc analyses to surface trends and risks for finance leadership.

About The Role

The Financial Analyst supports corporate finance and financial reporting across forecasting, variance analysis, and SEC-related reporting processes. The role prepares analysis grounded in US GAAP, maintains supporting schedules, and helps ensure financial data is complete, accurate, and audit-ready.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly and quarterly financial analysis, including budget-to-actual, forecast variance, revenue, operating expense, and cash flow reporting
• Build and maintain financial models, reporting packages, and supporting schedules in Excel, Google Sheets, and finance systems
• Reconcile financial data across the general ledger, subledgers, data warehouses, and business intelligence dashboards; investigate and resolve variances
• Support quarterly and annual SEC reporting by gathering data, documenting conclusions, and maintaining audit-ready workpapers
• Assist with SOX control activities, including evidence collection, control testing support, remediation tracking, and process documentation
• Partner with accounting managers and cross-functional stakeholders to evaluate transactions under US GAAP and improve close and reporting workflows
• Develop recurring dashboards and ad hoc analyses that surface trends, risks, and drivers for finance leadership

What We Are Looking For

• 1-3 years of experience in financial analysis, corporate finance, public accounting, financial reporting, or a related field
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a comparable discipline
• Working knowledge of US GAAP, financial statements, month-end close, and variance analysis
• Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP, financial modeling, and data validation
• Experience with ERP, financial planning and analysis, or business intelligence tools such as NetSuite, Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan, Looker, or Tableau
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to document assumptions, follow control procedures, and manage multiple reporting deadlines
• Bonus: Experience with SOX controls, SEC filings, technical accounting research, SQL, CPA coursework, or experience in a technology company
