Job summary

Genuine Parts Company seeks an Analyst in Financial Planning & Analysis to support executive finance and operational leadership by delivering financial analyses and insights that drive decision-making.

The role involves building models, analyzing P&L variances, and developing automated reports; you will partner with leaders to improve profitability and efficiency through reporting and dashboarding.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or Economics and 0–2 years of related experience in Finance, Accounting or Business Analysis/Planning.
• Experience with data modeling, analysis, and data visualization/business intelligence tools.

Responsibilities

• Designs and implements financial models and KPI reports to drive value in the business.
• Analyzes profit & loss statements, explains variances in performance, and monitors actions to ensure delivery of financial commitments.
• Performs trend and sensitivity analysis to evaluate key challenges and opportunities.
• Prepares and participates in financial and operational discussions with business leaders.
• Serves as a business partner with various leaders to drive additional profitability through analysis and reporting.
• Identifies and drives process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and dashboards.
• Performs customer and product profitability analysis.
• Increases productivity by developing automated reporting and modeling tools.
• Assists in the creation of executive presentations.
• Leads and participates in ad hoc projects assigned by the manager.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Summary

The Analyst, Financial Planning & Analysis supports Motion's Executive, Finance, and Operational Leadership by contributing to world class financial analyses and providing thought-provoking, value-adding insight into the group's financial performance. Assists with the identification of operational improvement opportunities and drives decision- making by collecting, managing, analyzing, and disseminating financial information and analyses.

Job Duties

Education & Experience

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

• Advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel to include VBA, pivot tables and complex formulas.
• Displays project management ability to coordinate tasks, timelines, and resources.
• Proven problem-solving skills.
• Ability to identify and communicate solutions to complex business opportunities in a time- critical environment.
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented.
