Job summary

Howard Community College seeks a Financial Aid Technical Analyst to support the Colleague-based financial aid operations, ensure compliance, and provide routine and ad hoc reporting to senior management and external agencies. The role includes data management, system enhancements, and staff training to maintain Title IV compliance.

The position requires 3–5 years in financial aid, strong tech skills, and experience with Colleague; MS Office and reporting capabilities are essential.

Qualifications

• Three to five years of financial aid experience required.
• Excellent knowledge and experience with technology, including student information systems (Colleague preferred); digital imaging technology; software applications; and the Web, Internet and e-mail.
• Ability to acquire and apply new knowledge and assist the director with the implementation of new software applications.
• In-depth knowledge of federal and state regulations and policies regarding federal, state, and institutional aid programs, college policies, and procedures.
• Ability to collect, compile, and analyze information and data, including basic math concepts and ratios.
• Excellent ability to initiate, locate and solve problems.

Responsibilities

• Support Colleague system setup and processing for Title IV and institutional aid.
• Prepare and deliver routine and ad hoc reports to senior management and outside agencies.
• Assist with administration of Colleague and ImageNow and related access.
• Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and institutional policy.
• Coordinate daily core operations for financial aid services, including data import/export and SAP processing.
• Oversee training and information modules for students and staff in financial aid processes.
