Job summary

Plymouth State University seeks a Financial Aid Counselor to assist in administering the financial aid program under supervisor guidance. This role reviews applications, performs need analysis, determines eligibility, and awards aid in line with USNH rules and policies.

It also includes extensive interaction with prospective and current students and families. The position requires a bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience, with familiarity in Ellucian Banner or PowerFAIDS.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree and three years of related experience in financial aid administration.
Experience with Ellucian Banner and/or PowerFAIDS.
Thorough knowledge of Federal financial aid processes, regulations and need analysis.

Responsibilities

Review financial aid applications for accuracy of income and asset information; make corrections.
Perform federal need analysis using professional judgment, regulations and institutional guidelines.
Calculate federal, state and institutional student aid eligibility and award such aid if qualifications are met.
Advise students and parents regarding the financial aid process, eligibility and award determinations.
Lead on specific aid programs and liaise with university offices and departments.
