Pay Range

This range is provided by Concordia University-St. Paul. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.

Base pay range: $55,000.00/yr - $60,000.00/yr

Position Overview

The Financial Aid Counselor - Military will assist the Student Financial Services Department with the awarding and administration of federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs, ensuring compliance with all policies and regulations. Responsibilities include providing financial counseling, supporting Student Accounts, awarding financial aid, certifying student aid, and assisting with New Student Admissions events as needed.

Essential Duties
  1. Administer and award financial aid programs in compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies to support student recruitment and retention.
  2. Serve as School Certifying Official for Veterans Affairs, federal and state education benefits, processing enrollment certifications.
  3. Manage Department of Defense Tuition Assistance portals and programs supporting military-affiliated students.
  4. Maintain accurate financial aid records, collect data and documents from students and administrative offices, and obtain information from the Department of Education and the State of Minnesota.
  5. Assist with the preparation and dissemination of financial aid information through workshops, presentations, visits, orientations, and conferences.
  6. Provide excellent customer service by counseling students and parents on aid regulations via in-person, phone, and email communication.
  7. Collaborate with various offices and external agencies to resolve eligibility, processing, certification, and payment issues.
  8. Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
  • Associates degree required.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience as a School Certifying Official is preferred.
