Job summary

RM Advisory Services, LLC seeks a field supervisor to manage a broccoli harvesting and packing crew in California. The role focuses on safety, quality, and cost reduction while speeding product delivery to the cooler.

You will coordinate crew location, equipment, breaks, and time/payroll records, emphasizing on-time performance and adherence to rules. Valid driver’s license and HS diploma required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience in harvesting broccoli.
• Understand principles of proper Broccoli harvesting.
• Ability to accomplish work on time and correct errors.
• Must have the ability to make decisions, appear for work on time, follow directions, interact well with co-workers, understand and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism.
• Ability to maintain a positive work environment.
• Ability to prioritize workload and have a high level of professionalism and self-confidence, self-starter.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that the product quality is consistent with their supervisor’s instructions.
• Determine when field haul equipment should be dispatched to a field, and how that equipment should enter and exit the harvesting area.
• Determine the physical location of the crew members, determine the type of box(s) to be used, and when the crews should receive their breaks.
• Communicate orally with crew members, Supervisors, and to have adequate written skills to prepare such written documentation as incident reports.
• Make every effort to eliminate any type of safety incident.
• Manage crew labor problems and hold unjustified grievances to a minimum.
• Maintain harvest equipment in same condition as received, less normal wear and tear.
• Stay in compliance with employee safety and food safety regulations.
• Train new hires on techniques such as packing, cutting, loading, etc.
• Issue equipment such as cutting knife, gloves, rubber boots, etc.
• Prepare and maintain time/payroll records and reports, as well as disciplinary actions.

Required Experience

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• H.S. Diploma or equivalent experience required
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record required

PAY RATE:

• $76,000 - $77,450
