Job summary

Herzing University is seeking a dedicated Financial Aid Administrator to support students with FAFSA, Title IV funds, and related policies. The role involves revising awards, disbursing funds, and guiding students through funding options to meet educational goals.

You will manage a caseload, counsel on financial literacy, and collaborate with colleagues to improve student satisfaction and accuracy. The position requires strong communication, detail orientation, and at least 1–3 years in Title IV

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Revise financial aid award packages based on schedule changes, breaks, eligibility, and other factors.
• Troubleshoot disbursement rejects and resolve delays in funding.
• Maintain focus on student satisfaction and accuracy.
• Demonstrate the PRICE of Success across processes.
• Meet with new students to discuss funding needs and guide FAFSA completion.
• Review eligibility for funding options including Federal Title IV funds, scholarships, state funding, and military funds.
• Use financial aid software to review documents and determine final awards.
• Provide gap funding options and advise on the best funding solutions.
• Counsel students on financial literacy and responsible borrowing.
• Manage a student caseload and support resolution of financial aid matters.
• Perform regular outreach for required documents, loan acceptance, and past due balances.

Job description

This position involves performing high level customer service and a working knowledge of financial aid, student accounts and registrar regulations and departmental policies and procedures.

Hours

Monday-Friday, 8.5 hour shifts are variable, 30-minute lunch. (start times available as early as 8AM and later shift can run until 7PM). If final candidate is located near Milwaukee, a hybrid schedule will be determined.

COMPENSATION

It is uncommon for new employees to start near the top of the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paid time off, and a retirement savings plan. The hourly pay range for this position is $21.74 to $29.41.

Responsibilities

• Revise financial aid award packages due to updates such as changes in course schedules, approved breaks, eligibility changes, and other factors.
• Troubleshoot disbursement rejects and resolve factors preventing timely disbursement of funding.
• Dedication to continuous improvement especially in the areas of student satisfaction and accuracy.
• Demonstrate all aspects of the PRICE of Success.
• Meet with new students to understand funding needs, provide guidance on completion of the FAFSA and required documents, and review eligibility for funding options including Federal Title IV funds, scholarships, state funding, and military funds.
• Utilize financial aid software to review student documents and eligibility criteria to finalize financial aid awards.
• Provide gap funding options to students and support students in determining the best option to meet their financial needs and support their educational goals.
• Counsel students on financial literacy and wellness topics for the purpose of educating and encouraging responsible borrowing practices.
• Manage a student caseload, striving to build relationships and support students in resolving all matters related to their financial aid funding.
• Perform regular outreach to students requiring action including needed documents, loan acceptance, and past due balances.
