Job summary

Joyce University is seeking a Financial Aid Advisor to guide students and families through FAFSA, eligibility reviews, and award packaging. You’ll ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional policies while fostering student advocacy.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of experience with students and families in Financial Aid.
• Working knowledge of Title IV financial aid regulations.
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Guide students through FAFSA completion and award packaging.
• Review financial aid applications for eligibility across federal, state, and institutional Aid.
• Award and adjust aid packages in compliance with regulations.
• Counsel students and families through appointments, workshops, and virtual tools.
• Manage verification files, resolve discrepancies, and submit corrections.
• Collaborate across departments to support enrollment and student satisfaction.
• Present at orientations and information sessions.
• Support exit counseling for withdraws or graduates.

What You’ll Do

As a Financial Aid Advisor, you will serve as a trusted resource for students and families by:

• Guiding students through the financial aid process, from FAFSA completion to award packaging
• Reviewing and analyzing financial aid applications to determine eligibility for federal, state, and institutional aid
• Awarding and adjusting aid packages in compliance with all applicable regulations and policies
• Counseling students and families through individual appointments, workshops, phone calls, email, and virtual tools
• Managing verification files, resolving discrepancies, and submitting required corrections
• Evaluating special and unusual circumstances with sound judgment and empathy
• Collaborating across departments to support enrollment, retention, and student satisfaction
• Presenting at orientations, information sessions, and student forums
• Supporting exit counseling for students who withdraw or graduate
• Contributing to team initiatives, continuous improvement efforts, and university events

Qualifications and Experience

• 2–3 years of experience working directly with students and families in Financial Aid
• Working knowledge of Title IV financial aid regulations
• Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
