Gulf Winds Credit Union

Pensacola, FL

Position Summary

This role serves as a trusted financial advisor to credit union members while building a strong internal referral culture across branches and departments. The advisor should deliver comprehensive advice, deepen member relationships, retain assets, and grow the wealth program without operating in a silo.

  • Develop and manage long-term advisory relationships with credit union members, prospects, and business owners. Conduct discovery meetings and create actionable financial strategies based on each member's goals, priorities, risk tolerance, time horizon, and complete financial picture. Provide investment advisory, brokerage, retirement, and other approved wealth solutions in accordance with broker-dealer and credit union requirements.
  • Build strong working relationships with branch managers, lenders, business bankers, and frontline employees to create a consistent and repeatable referral process. Be regularly present in assigned branches and departments to support employees, meet referred members, and identify additional planning opportunities. Follow up quickly on referrals, communicate outcomes appropriately, and create confidence that internal partners can trust the wealth team with their members.
  • Conduct annual and periodic reviews, maintain accurate client records, and proactively identify opportunities for consolidation, recurring distributions, beneficiary updates, RMD planning, and other service needs.
  • Retain existing assets and relationships while generating net new assets and new households for the wealth program. Participate in member seminars, branch events, financial education efforts, community activities, and other business-development initiatives.
  • Partner closely with the Operations Manager and support staff to ensure excellent service, accurate documentation, and timely completion of client requests.
  • Maintain all required licensing, continuing education, documentation, and compliance standards.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.
Performance Measurements
  • Quality and consistency of branch and department engagement.
  • Internal referral activity and referral-to-appointment conversion.
  • New households, net new assets, and relationship retention.
  • Completion and quality of annual reviews and financial planning activity.
  • Member experience, responsiveness, and follow-through.
  • Collaboration across the credit union and contribution to a strong referral culture.
  • Adherence to compliance, documentation, and suitability/fiduciary requirements.
Knowledge and Skills

Experience - Three years of similar or related experience.

Education - Preferred college degree (BS or BA in a relevant field). Series 7, 66 FINRA licenses, Life & Disability insurance required: CFP Preferred.

Interpersonal Skills - Work frequently involves exercising advanced conflict resolution, giving material presentations, and resolving issues impacting multiple departments or divisions. Role also requires the ability to motivate or influence others as a material part of the role, with a significant level of diplomacy and trust. Obtaining cooperation (internally and/or externally) is an important part of the role and a high level of interpersonal skills is critical to the success of this position.

Other Skills
  • Entrepreneurial enough to grow a practice, but team-oriented enough to succeed inside a credit union.
  • Comfortable walking into a branch, building relationships with employees, and becoming the person they naturally think of when a member needs financial guidance.
  • Highly accountable, organized, responsive, and comfortable owning the relationship from introduction through ongoing advice.
  • Committed to serving members first and helping strengthen the entire credit union relationship, not simply generating investment production.

The position is based in-office in our Pensacola, Florida market, operates primarily in an office setting, and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. This position requires consistent presence in the office to collaborate with team members and fulfill job responsibilities effectively.
