Job summary

Affinity Federal Credit Union in Basking Ridge, NJ is seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to join Affinity Investment Services.

You will interview and advise members on investments and insurance, build a comprehensive view of their financial picture, and offer suitable recommendations to help them reach goals.

With access to branch teams, LPL resources, and referrals, you will grow a practice while serving an established membership.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Financial Advisor experience or related field.
• Strong client relationship and pipeline development.
• Ability to manage a practice independently with support from Affinity.
• Licensed to sell investment and insurance products per FINRA/State rules.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Interview and advise members regarding investments and insurance products.

Affinity Federal Credit Union is seeking an experienced Financial Advisor to join our growing Affinity Investment Services (AIS) team to cover theFlemington, Denville and New Providence, NJ territories.

As an Affinity Financial Advisor, you will have the opportunity to build and grow your practice while serving an established membership base and working within a trusted financial institution.

Financial Advisors help improve the financial lives of Affinity members and the communities we serve by providing personalized, needs-based investment and insurance advice designed to help clients achieve their financial goals.

Territory:

Three Affinity locations — Flemington, Denville (located within St. Clare's Hospital), and New Providence.

Client Relationship & Financial Planning

• Interview and advise Affinity members regarding investment and insurance products and services.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of each client's financial picture, including assets, liabilities, existing insured and uninsured products, needs and financial objectives.
• Provide suitable investment and insurance recommendations consistent with client needs and objectives.
• Build and maintain long-term client relationships through ongoing communication, service and financial education.

Business Development

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with Affinity branch, Member Service Center (MSC), CUMAnet employees and external referral sources.
• Nurture, coach and recognize referral partners to create a consistent pipeline of qualified client opportunities.
• Participate in an integrated marketing program including branch training, relationship development, telephone solicitation, individual and group presentations, direct mail, email campaigns, follow-up calls and other prospecting activities.
• Identify opportunities to deepen client relationships and expand the Affinity Investment Services client base.
• Cross-refer clients and members to appropriate Affinity products and services.

Operations & Compliance

• Open customer accounts, initiate and confirm customer orders, maintain customer files and records, and prepare required reports.
• Maintain full compliance with Affinity Investment Services and LPL Financial policies and procedures.
• Maintain required sales logs and compliance documentation.

Regulatory Responsibilities

• Act as a registered representative and licensed insurance agent through LPL Financial.
• Perform all duties in accordance with Affinity Investment Services and LPL Financial policies and procedures.
• Strictly adhere to applicable FINRA and SEC rules, regulations and reporting requirements.
• Comply with all applicable state and federal insurance laws and regulations.
• Maintain all required compliance records and documentation.

Education & Experience

• 5+ years of related Financial Advisor experience required.
• Bachelor's degree in finance or related field preferred but not required.
• Demonstrated success developing client relationships and generating investment and insurance business.

Minimum Qualifications

• Series 7 and Series 66 or Series 7, Series 63 and Series 65
• Life & Health Insurance License
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong relationship-building skills with clients and branch personnel
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently
• Strong customer-service orientation
• Professional appearance and demeanor
• Entrepreneurial spirit with the desire to build a successful practice while being part of a team
• Knowledge of the Affinity DNA Core System/CView preferred
