Job summary

TJX Companies, a Fortune 100 off-price retailer, seeks a Financial Accounting Manager in the Framingham area. You will lead the close process, mentor 2–3 accountants, review complex entries, and ensure US GAAP compliance.

You’ll partner with business teams, oversee audits, and drive process improvements while maintaining a strong control environment. A CPA/MBA is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of accounting, audit or finance experience.
• Prior management experience (1–2+ years preferred).
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
• CPA/MBA a plus; public accounting a plus.
• Technical accounting and strong GAAP knowledge.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Ability to delegate, lead teams, and develop talent.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; ERP experience (Oracle) and OneStream a plus.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Financial Accounting Manager

The Opportunity: Contribute To The Growth of Your Career.

The Financial Accounting Manager is responsible for managing the financial close process and related activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness of the related TJX Financial Statements, as well as presenting and providing analysis of the se financial statements. The Financial Accounting Manager is also responsible for the hiring, supervision, and development of a team of accountants.

• Manage the development and provide mentorship and training to 2-3 Financial Accountants. Delegate work and assignments.

• Review journal entries, account reconciliations and complex accounting transactions to ensure accuracy of Financial Statements

• Review and analyze Financial Statements and supporting schedules/disclosures – P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow, Forms 10-Q, 10-K, etc. with a focus on accuracy and timeliness and conformity with US GAAP

• Ensure control environment and SOX controls are maintained

• Own the oversight of special projects, management presentations and Ad Hoc requests

• Independently lead the accounting team in meetings with business partners on accounting matters

• Identify & implement opportunities for operational improvement & efficiencies

• Research and interpret new and recently issued accounting standards

• Lead discussions with Internal and External auditors with related audits

Who We Are Looking For: You.

• 5+ years of Accounting, Audit or Finance experience

• Prior management experience (1 to 2+ Years Preferred)

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent

• CPA/MBA a plus

• Public Accounting a plus

• Technical accounting and strong understanding of GAAP (public/private or mix)

• Excellent interpersonal/ relationships skills skills/ Strong communication skills (verbal and written)

• Proven track record to delegate and lead team to accomplish business goals, Ability to assess and develop talent

• Organizational and time management skills

• Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline-oriented environment and prioritize optimally, with consideration of broader team goals

• Experience leading presentations to senior management

• Adaptable, dynamic problem solver with solutioning skills

• Shown proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications

• Oracle/ERP experience and exposure to OneStream reporting a plus

This position has a starting salary range of $104,800.00 to $136,200.00 per year. Actual starting pay is determined by a number of factors, including relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This position is eligible for an annual incentive as well as long-term incentives.
