Qualifications

• Fluent English and Mandarin, both written and spoken, to collaborate with global partners.

Responsibilities

• Manage full-cycle month-, quarter-, and year-end close for real estate assets.
• Prepare GL entries, reconciliations, and debt compliance schedules.
• Oversee AP/AR, vendor payments, and cash flow forecasting for assigned portfolios.
• Draft financial statements under US GAAP and support investor and lender reporting.
• Coordinate with auditors and tax teams as needed.

Job description

We are seeking a detail-oriented, self-driven Accountant with 3–5 years of institutional real estate accounting experience to join our Finance & Accounting team in New York.

In this role, you will play a critical part in financial reporting, asset-level accounting, internal controls, and corporate cash management. The ideal candidate brings strong technical US GAAP proficiency, hands-on exposure to institutional real estate assets, and the ability to communicate seamlessly in both English and Mandarin.

Key Responsibilities

Asset-Level & Platform Accounting

• Manage full-cycle month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes for commercial real estate assets and holding entities.
• Prepare and review general ledger entries, bank reconciliations, tenant recovery adjustments, and debt compliance schedules.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, vendor payments, and cash flow forecasting across assigned portfolios.
• Draft and deliver accurate financial statements (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash Flow) under US GAAP.
• Partner with Asset Management to review budget vs. actual variances and provide operational variance analyses.
• Assist in preparing quarterly investor packages, lender reporting requirements, and board presentation decks.

Audit, Tax & Compliance Support

• Coordinate with external auditors during annual audits and tax preparers for K-1 and tax return preparations.
• Maintain internal control protocols and ensure compliance with joint venture (JV) agreements and lender covenants.

Cross-Border Communication & Special Projects

• Serve as a key bilingual liaison bridging headquarters, onshore asset teams, and offshore investment partners.
• Support ad-hoc financial analysis, treasury management, and real estate transaction closing support as needed.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience: 3–5 years of professional accounting experience, with direct exposure to institutional real estate (commercial, office, retail, or mixed-use assets required). Public accounting (Big 4 / regional) combined with real estate industry experience is a plus.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline. CPA or CPA candidate preferred.
• Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in US GAAP. Hands-on experience with real estate software (Yardi Voyager, MRI, or RealPage) and advanced Excel functionality (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
• Language Skills: Native or business-level fluency in English and Mandarin (both written and spoken) is required due to ongoing collaboration with global stakeholders.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional organizational skills, high attention to detail, strong business acumen, and the ability to prioritize multi-task deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
