Job summary

Mustang Cat in Houston, TX is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Accounting team and drive financial reporting, budgeting, analysis, and business decision support. Reporting to the Controller, you will partner with leaders to develop meaningful financial insights that improve performance.

You will assist with budgeting, analyze monthly statements, and prepare the Monthly Financial Review Packet.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills are essential.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the annual budgeting process.
• Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and management reports.
• Develop and distribute the Monthly Financial Review Packet.
• Participate in monthly financial review meetings with department managers.
• Prepare quarterly Caterpillar financial reporting.
• Complete quarterly cash flow reporting and debt compliance requirements.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Design and develop new financial reports and reporting tools.
• Partner with departments across the company to provide detailed financial analysis and decision support.
• Identify opportunities to improve financial reporting processes and efficiencies.
