Job summary

Douglas Dynamics, Inc. seeks a Finance & Treasury Manager to lead corporate accounting, treasury management, and HR financial support. You will partner with executives, drive cash flow optimization, and oversee financial close and reporting across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead treasury operations by partnering with executive leadership to optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital.
• Manage cash forecasting, debt administration, covenant compliance, payment processes, and treasury reporting.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business units and banking partners for merchant services and corporate card programs.
• Coordinate hedging strategies and mitigate financial risk with external advisors and financial institutions.
• Oversee accounting activities, intercompany eliminations, transfer pricing adjustments, and SOX compliance.
• Improve financial reporting accuracy and documentation across the organization.

We are seeking a Finance & Treasury Manager.

You will be responsible for leading, building and supporting a wide range of finance initiatives including but not limited to corporate accounting, treasury management and human resources financial support that aim to positively impact on the profitability of Douglas Dynamics. You work independently as a valued business partner and finance leader, leading teams through several key projects that align with the long-range objectives of the organization.

How You Will Make a Difference

• Lead treasury operations by partnering with executive leadership to optimize cash flow, liquidity, and working capital while maintaining strong banking relationships and financial risk management.
• Manage cash forecasting, debt administration, covenant compliance, payment processes, and treasury reporting to support the Company's financial health and strategic objectives.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business units and banking partners for merchant services, corporate credit card programs, and other banking-related activities.
• Partner with external advisors and financial institutions to support hedging strategies and mitigate financial risk.
• Drive excellence in corporate accounting by overseeing key accounting activities, including intercompany eliminations, transfer pricing adjustments, audit support, SOX compliance, and financial close processes.
• Collaborate with divisional finance and accounting teams to resolve accounting matters, strengthen financial reporting accuracy, and improve documentation consistency across the organization.
• Provide financial analysis and cross-functional support to ensure the integrity of consolidated financial results and compliance with internal controls.
• Partner with Human Resources to monitor healthcare and workers' compensation costs, evaluate trends, and provide financial insights that support effective plan administration and cost management.
• Support the successful integration of acquired businesses by coordinating treasury, financial reporting, consolidation, and SOX compliance activities to ensure a seamless transition into the organization.
• Lead strategic finance projects, including the continued development and optimization of the Company's financial consolidation systems and reporting capabilities.
• Develop and enhance financial reporting, dashboards, and analytical tools that improve visibility, support data-driven decision making, and drive business performance.
• Influence and lead cross-functional teams to achieve organizational objectives, despite having no direct reports.
• Model behaviors consistent with Company values, policies, and procedures.
• Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

What This Role Needs

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance
• 5+ years of experience
• Prior public accounting experience a plus

Skills & Competencies

• Strong technical knowledge of GAAP
• Ability to demonstrate knowledge of financial concepts and communicate them to both finance and non-finance team members
• Detailed knowledge of manufacturing accounting
• In business unit finance experience, a plus
• Deep passion for attention to detail
• Experience building complex financial models and analyses
• Superior experience with Microsoft Office. Vena and Epicor experience a plus.
• Ability to work both independently and as a team
• Excellent interpersonal skills with strong problem-solving capabilities.
• Proven ability to meet deadlines and prioritize as needed
• High level of proficiency working with Microsoft Suite including but not limited to: Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams. Experience with virtual meeting technology.
• Willingness to travel (10-15%)
