Job summary

IBM Consulting is seeking a Co‑Op Business Transformation Consultant 2027 - Finance at University Park. You will work with IBM consultants on finance transformation engagements, gaining hands-on exposure to redesigning financial processes and adopting new technologies.

Qualifications

Currently pursuing a university degree with a track‑record of academic success (preferred majors: Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, MIS, or related fields).
Strong interpersonal skills that enhance collaboration and relationship building, while managing dynamic workloads in an agile environment.
Demonstrated initiative and passion to actively seek new knowledge, embracing a growth mindset to assimilate diverse viewpoints.
Interest in finance transformation, ERP systems, or business process consulting.
Ability to work up to 20 hours per week when classes are in session (fall/spring semesters) and up to 40 hours per week during academic breaks.
Foundational understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, or finance operations through coursework or extracurricular activities.
Exposure to ERP concepts or financial systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) through coursework, personal projects, or student organizations.
Familiarity with data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) for financial reporting or business storytelling.

Responsibilities

Financial Process Analysis: Support the analysis and redesign of core finance processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Stakeholder Engagement: Participate in workshops and client meetings to gather requirements and synthesize information into insights.
Operational Excellence: Contribute to process improvement models and support business case development and solution recommendations.
Project Exposure: Gain hands‑on experience with transformation teams and ERP‑related initiatives; translate financial requirements into client terms and KPIs.
Co‑op Schedule: Year‑long co‑op at Penn State University Park, starting May 2027, 20 hrs/week during classes and up to 40 hrs/week during breaks.
