Job summary

SEIU Local 1021 seeks an Accounting Manager (Finance – Team Operations Leader) to direct Finance activities, supervise staff, and ensure day-to-day operations and policy adherence in Oakland. Under the Finance Director, you will oversee general accounting, payroll, accounts payable, and compliance with GAAP and applicable laws.

You will work with consultants for audits, manage month-end close, prepare financial reporting, and support budgeting.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college; For Finance Team Lead, concentration or coursework in accounting required.
• Four year’s experience in the specific program area.
• High-level ability to communicate orally and in writing.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel and ability to become proficient at other required computer programs.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record and insurance required by the local.

Responsibilities

• Supervises office staff and assigns work within the Finance area.
• Ensures compliance with GAAP and applicable laws.
• Oversees payroll processing and benefits administration.
• Manages accounts payable, vendor relations, and travel expenses.
• Coordinates annual financial audits and maintains accounting policies.
