Job summary

DIRECTV invites motivated students to join the Tax team for a 10-week remote internship. You will analyze tax data, build visual reports in Power BI, and contribute to internal tax processes while collaborating with cross-functional teams across the company.

You’ll develop technical skills in SQL, Snowflake, and Excel, while presenting insights to leadership and documenting processes for scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a 4-year undergraduate or advanced degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance.
• Strong data analytics and visualization skills.
• Comfort presenting to leaders; excellent written and verbal communication.

Responsibilities

• Assist with internal tax processes and software implementations.
• Produce SQL reports from Snowflake and create Power BI visuals.
• Develop data storytelling deliverables to support tax initiatives.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance and IT across remote teams.

Dive into Tax as a Summer Intern!

The work our team does impacts the DIRECTV Finance organization by minimizing operating taxes, directly benefiting net income. You’ll get the chance to work on internal tax processes and software, putting your education and skills to the test and see real world immediate impact. We work cross-functionally to provide input and support in various initiatives focused on customer- and company-paid taxes.

Project Examples:

• Analytical work to understand the drivers of California property tax values
• Conduct deep financial analysis around pending tax legislation impacting customers and/or DIRECTV
• SQL reporting from Snowflake

Who We’re Looking For

• Students currently pursuing a 4-year undergraduate degree or advanced degree in Tax, Accounting or Finance
• Passion for numbers and data with demonstrated experience in data analytics, visualization
• Comfortable presenting and speaking with leaders
• Highly proficient in Excel and PPT
• SQL experience is a plus
• Power BI
• Data storytelling, ability to synthesize insights out of the data
• Process documentation - ideation to deliverable
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Experience in virtual, cross-functional collaboration
• Well-organized and able to prioritize
• Self-motivated and able to hold oneself accountable to tasks in a virtual environment

Program Details

• Duration: 10-week remote internship (This is a remote position that can be located anywhere in the United States.)
• Program Dates: 6/7/27 – 8/13/27 or 6/14/27 – 8/20/27
• Eligibility: Must have full U.S. work authorization now and in the future
• This position can earn $25 - $34 per hour, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at DIRECTV offers. (Hourly rate based on academic status.)
