Job description

Finance supervisors utilize their experience, leadership, and coaching skills to ensure assigned collegiate chapters have the financial support they need to maintain financial wellness. They ensure chapters’ financial advisors have the knowledge, skills, relationships, and confidence to promote chapter financial success.

Responsibilities

  1. Assist chapter advisors in appointing, training, and mentoring financial advisors in alignment with Gamma Phi Beta’s training and resources.
  2. Supervise collegiate chapter financial activities for assigned chapters. Ensure chapters follow the budget process, timelines, and approvals; review chapter financial activity on OmegaFi; analyze chapter financial activity according to financial management standards.
  3. Collaborate with the collegiate chapter supervisor and financial advisor to address financial issues related to chapter budgeting, OmegaFi, or chapter financial activity.
  4. Track the completion of IRS Form 990 and upload a copy to Beta Base.
  5. Assess financial strengths and challenges, set and manage financial goals with the regional/new chapter team and finance team.
  6. Identify chapters in need of additional financial support.
  7. Collaborate annually with regional/new chapter team members to schedule and lead chapter finance visits for assigned chapters. Submit a report via Beta Base within 10 days of each visit.
  8. Provide feedback and suggestions to appropriate personnel on resources, programming, projects, and initiatives set forth by the Sorority.
  9. This role requires 10-15 hours per week during the academic year.
  10. Travel: Volunteers may be expected to travel up to 15 days per year.
  11. Learn and utilize Beta Base and OmegaFi platforms for assigned chapters.
  12. Complete all required volunteer training modules and participate in training conversations with the regional team leader within six weeks of appointment.
  13. Participate in annual regional and chapter team meetings, financial team meetings, and regular team calls.
  14. Respond to all communications within 48 hours.
  15. Maintain self-awareness of personal strengths, challenges, and motivations for volunteering.
  16. Communicate effectively, clearly, and promptly in both written and verbal formats.
  17. Work collaboratively on teams to meet established goals.
  18. Mentor and coach other alumnae volunteers.
  19. Understand and adhere to Gamma Phi Beta’s financial policies, procedures, and best practices.
