Qualifications

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or another business-related field.
  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0/4.0 GPA.
  • Significant experience with Microsoft 365 applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

  • Supports Shared Services Finance with AR, AP, and Treasury activities.
  • Uses Microsoft Office, Oracle, and AI tools to research accounts and reconcile data.
  • Gathers and organizes supporting docs to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Researches past-due invoices and customer deductions for collections and dispute resolution.
  • Investigates unapplied cash and customer credits by analyzing payments and reconciliations.
  • Assists with processing and reconciling credit card transactions and related issues.
  • Maintains customer data integrity in Oracle and validates addresses.
  • Collaborates with internal partners to answer routine accounting inquiries and provide timely information.
  • Completes special projects and supports process improvements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Supports the Shared Services Finance team with a variety of Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and Treasury activities, contributing to the accurate and efficient execution of daily financial operations.
  • Utilizes Microsoft Office, Oracle, and approved AI tools to research customer accounts, prepare account statements, analyze financial data, and perform account reconciliations.
  • Gathers, reviews, and organizes supporting documentation, including invoices, proof of delivery, and waiver documentation, to facilitate timely issue resolution and accurate financial records.
  • Researches and resolves past-due invoices and customer deductions using customer and third-party web portals, supporting effective collections and dispute resolution.
  • Investigates unapplied cash and customer credits by analyzing payment activity and reconciling transactions to outstanding invoices and deductions.
  • Supports the processing and reconciliation of credit card transactions by researching payment discrepancies and assisting with timely resolution.
  • Maintains the integrity of customer data within Oracle by updating account information, validating site addresses, and ensuring records remain accurate and current.
  • Collaborates with internal business partners to resolve routine accounting and customer account inquiries while providing accurate financial information and timely support.
  • Completes special projects and other related duties as assigned, contributing to process improvements and the achievement of team objectives.

  • Significant experience with Microsoft 365 applications such as Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
Preferred Education/Experience
  • Prior internship experience preferred.
Working Conditions & Travel Requirements

This is a full-time, on-site internship that begins in May and concludes in August. The internship is based at GE Appliances Park in Louisville, KY. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the country where the position is located. GE Appliances does not provide employment visa sponsorship for this internship, now or in the future. Working conditions are typical of a professional office environment. Travel is not expected as part of this role. Occasional participation in conferences or external training events may be required.
