Job summary

The Thesis team is shaping the future of customized nootropics and seeks a finance leader to drive reporting, planning, and strategic finance. You will own budgeting, forecasting, and spend controls while partnering with leadership and external partners.

You’ll manage financial software, oversee vendor and payroll processes, and contribute to investor communications as the company scales. This is a high-visibility role in a fast-growing start-up environment in New York.

Qualifications

• 4-6 years of experience in finance, FP&A, accounting or related fields.
• Prior experience in a financial role at a start-up or high-growth company.
• Exceptional analytical skills, including fluency in Excel.
• Strong communication skills and ability to distill complex information.
• Organizational prowess and ability to wear multiple hats.
• Ownership mentality—you are a self-starter and demonstrate a strong bias for action.
• Curiosity about how different parts of the business work.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships both internally and externally.

Responsibilities

• Manage monthly budget-to-actual variance analyses and rolling forecasts.
• Assist with investor and Board reporting, KPI tracking, and scenario analyses.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Growth, Operations, and Tech to ensure budget accountability.
• Prepare mid-month and month-end flash reporting for leadership.
• Oversee expense management, vendor payments, and payroll processing.
• Maintain our financial software stack and evaluate new tools.
• Coordinate with external bookkeeper for month-end close.
• Work with external tax accountants on federal/state tax obligations.
• Partner with People Ops on risk management and insurance programs.
• Collaborate with Supply Chain on inventory and S&OP processes.
• Provide regular financial reports to leadership for goal tracking.
