Job summary

Quality Technology Services, LLC is seeking an experienced Finance Process Owner in Overland Park, KS to manage end-to-end accounting processes and drive continuous improvement across the organization.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Own assigned accounting processes from end to end, including process design, governance, execution standards, documentation, integration, controls, and continuous improvement.
• Map and maintain current-state and future-state process flows with visual documentation to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Translate observations and feedback into prioritized improvement opportunities and practical solutions.
• Partner with Global Process Owners and cross-functional teams to align, standardize, scale, and optimize accounting processes.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process maps, playbooks, and training materials.
• Define and monitor process performance metrics and provide visibility into risks, issues, and improvement progress.
• Lead cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives to improve accounting processes and operating outcomes.
• Coordinate stakeholders to maintain alignment and drive timely execution.
• Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, and changes; coordinate mitigation when needed.
• Lead change-management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, and adoption planning.
• Monitor status and provide concise reporting to leadership; ensure actions are documented and completed.
• Measure outcomes and benefits after implementation and transition initiatives into sustainable business-as-usual processes.

WHO YOU ARE:

The Finance Process Owner is responsible for the end-to-end execution, governance, integration, and continuous improvement of accounting processes. Approximately 65% of the role is focused on process ownership, including process design, documentation, standardization, controls, performance management, and optimization.

This role is focused on project and program management. The role leads cross-functional initiatives that implement process improvements, strengthen accounting capabilities, and support business growth. By combining process expertise, change leadership, and disciplined program execution, the Process Owner ensures improvements are delivered effectively, adopted by stakeholders, and sustained over time.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Own assigned accounting processes from end to end, including process design, governance, execution standards, documentation, integration, controls, and continuous improvement.
• Map and maintain current-state and future-state process flows, using clear visual documentation to identify bottlenecks, handoff gaps, control weaknesses, duplication, and other inefficiencies.
• Translate process observations, performance data, and stakeholder feedback into prioritized improvement opportunities and practical solutions.
• Partner with Global Process Owners, Development, Finance, Technology, and other cross-functional teams to align, standardize, scale, and optimize accounting processes.
• Establish and reinforce consistent use of defined procedures, controls, systems, tools, templates, trackers, and communication frameworks.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures, process maps, playbooks, training materials, governance routines, and supporting documentation.
• Define and monitor process performance metrics, evaluate trends, and provide visibility into process effectiveness, risks, issues, and improvement progress.
• Facilitate recurring process reviews and working sessions to resolve issues, clarify ownership, improve handoffs, implement best practices, and sustain a continuous-improvement mindset.
• Lead cross-functional projects and transformation initiatives that improve accounting processes, capabilities, controls, systems, and operating outcomes.
• Develop and manage project charters, workplans, timelines, milestones, deliverables, governance routines, resource requirements, and communication plans.
• Coordinate stakeholders across Accounting, Finance, Development, Technology, and other business functions to maintain alignment and drive timely execution.
• Identify, track, and manage project risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and changes; coordinate mitigation and escalation when needed.
• Lead change-management activities, including stakeholder engagement, communications, training, readiness, and adoption planning.
• Monitor project status, provide concise reporting to leadership and key stakeholders, and ensure decisions and action items are documented and completed.
• Measure outcomes and benefits following implementation, incorporate lessons learned, and transition completed initiatives into sustainable business-as-usual processes.
• Other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

• 7+ years of experience in accounting, finance operations, process ownership, process improvement, project or program management, change management, business transformation, or a related field.
• Experience owning, mapping, documenting, analyzing, and improving end-to-end business or financial processes.
• Experience leading cross-functional projects or transformation initiatives, including workplan development, milestone management, risk and issue tracking, and stakeholder reporting.
• Experience leading process and organizational change through effective communication, training, implementation, and adoption activities.
• Strong ability to collaborate across teams, facilitate decisions, and influence stakeholders without direct authority.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex workflows and business needs into clear, actionable solutions.

NICE TO HAVE:

• Experience supporting accounting, project accounting, real estate development, construction, or capital-intensive business operations.
• Experience working with global process ownership, shared services, finance transformation, or enterprise process standardization.
• Experience establishing process metrics, governance routines, controls, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
• Experience with process-mapping, workflow, reporting, project-management, or continuous-improvement tools and methodologies.
• PMP, Lean Six Sigma, Prosci, Agile, or a comparable process, project, program, or change-management certification.
