Job summary

The City of Boulder is seeking a Finance support professional to join the Police Department Business Services Unit. This full-time role handles payroll, purchasing, accounts payable/receivable, billing, and reporting, using Workday and Telestaff to resolve complex payroll events and inquiries.

You will train staff, improve processes, and collaborate across departments to ensure timely, accurate financial operations and strong customer service for internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
• Four years of related experience may substitute for the education requirement.
• Payroll, billing, and financial data processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and process financial records with high accuracy.
• Maintain records for payroll, accounts payable and receivable.
• Provide training and guidance to department staff on financial tasks.
• Create and monitor overtime and department-wide metrics.
• Audit invoices for accuracy and respond to vendor inquiries.
• Coordinate with Central Finance on setups and transfers.
