Job summary

SoFi Tech Solutions in Utah is seeking a Manager, Financial Operations to lead a high‑performing team responsible for critical financial workflows, reconciliation activities, and data quality improvements.

This hands‑on leadership role involves coaching, cross‑functional partnership with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance and Compliance, and driving automation to scale the function. You will use SQL to research issues and strengthen controls across processes.

Qualifications

• Experience leading financial operations, reconciliation, banking operations, payments operations, card operations, or similar operational teams.
• Proven people leadership skills, including coaching, prioritization, accountability, performance management, and team development.
• Strong understanding of reconciliation workflows, exception management, operational controls, approvals, and issue resolution processes.
• Hands‑on SQL skills with the ability to query data, investigate exceptions, validate results, and support operational decision‑making.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to identify root causes, evaluate operational risk, and recommend practical solutions.
• Strategic thinking and process improvement mindset, including experience improving workflows, documentation, controls, reporting, or automation.
• Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced environment with competing priorities, evolving processes, and cross‑functional dependencies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including the ability to explain complex operational and data issues clearly to technical, non‑technical, client, and bank partner audiences.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Financial Operations team responsible for managing tickets, reporting, and reconciliation activities.
• Develop reconciliation specialists focusing on Settlement reporting, Money Movement approvals, and related operations.
• Drive data quality improvements and cross‑functional issue resolution with partners.
• Provide day‑to‑day leadership, coaching, prioritization, and performance management across multiple functions.
• Establish operating rhythms, service levels, escalation paths, and quality expectations for ticket management and approvals.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Data, Finance, Accounting, Compliance, Risk, and client/bank teams to improve workflows and scale solutions.
• Serve as a liaison communicating status, requirements, and timely resolutions to stakeholders.
• Use SQL and data analysis to research issues, validate transactions, identify trends, and support root cause analysis.
• Strengthen controls and documentation across reconciliation processes, approvals, suspense management, and operational activities.
• Identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve accuracy, increase automation, and enhance visibility through reporting.
• Monitor metrics and aging items to support proactive management and continuous improvement.
• Translate complex issues into actionable recommendations for leadership and cross‑functional teams.
