Job summary

Beacon Education is seeking a Finance Manager to provide financial management across Beacon Education, GLOW Academy and Spark Academy, including budgeting, reporting, payroll, and compliance. The role is on-site at Beacon Education’s Wilmington campus with occasional visits to Spark Academy; a BA in finance/accounting, proficiency in Excel and QuickBooks, and GAAP experience are required.

Salary range is $60,000-$65,000 with comprehensive benefits and opportunities to work with multiple school

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Proficiency in financial software, Microsoft Office suite, and Google suite (particularly Excel and Quickbooks), plus advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Previous administrative, HR, operations, or office management experience preferred.
• Previous experience in a K-12, early childhood education setting or non profit preferred.
• Familiarity with NC charter school accounting preferred.
• Budget development and analysis skills.
• Grant management, audit preparation and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis and reporting.
• Prepare and present accurate financial statements and reports to senior management for the Finance Committee and Boards.
• Monitor cash flow, accounts receivable, and accounts payable; manage monthly processing and budget.
• Reconcile bank and investment accounts monthly; manage payroll and benefit deductions.
• Coordinate investment of funds with CEO, Committees and Boards to maximize return on cash.
• Manage audits and address audit findings; ensure GAAP compliance.
• Prepare compliance reports for management and external stakeholders.
