Job summary

Lennar is seeking an Assistant Controller to lead the accounting team and oversee day-to-day financial operations for the division, including accounts payable, payroll, and reporting. The role ensures policy compliance and accurate monthly close aligned with corporate deadlines.

Ideal candidates have a Bachelor's in Accounting/Finance (CPA preferred) with at least three years of accounting experience in homebuilding or related sectors, and strong Excel, Hyperion, EssBase, and JD Edwards skills.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance or related field; CPA preferred.
• Minimum three years of accounting/financial experience; homebuilding experience a plus.
• Proficient with Hyperion, EssBase, JD Edwards; advanced Excel skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and mentor the accounting team to drive top performance and develop effective solutions.
• Manage the month-end close process accurate and timely per corporate deadlines.
• Provide analyses of variances between actual results and forecasts and review Joint Venture financials.
• Oversee payables and payroll processes with accurate payments and proper audit records.
• Ensure compliance with the Accounting Policy Manual and reflect land development budgets monthly.
• Conduct monthly budget reviews and monitor sales activity via weekly reports.
• Provide weekly/monthly financial reports to Division Management and manage related packages.
• Supervise accounting staff and promote adherence to policies and procedures.
• Recruit, interview, and train accounting team members; provide feedback and development plans.
• Organize and prioritize work, manage audits, and meet deadlines.
• Handle corporate and division-level projects; develop staff management strategies.
